Ciao, welcome to my blog MarcoPoloSpirit!

Thanks for stopping by and reading!

I opened this blog in December 2017 for fun to keep track of my travelling around Italy and the world, and that's how I looked like...

...And today? Yippee!

I look the same, don't you think?

Well, sort of...

Same smile, same thick supercurly fizzy untamable hair😄 and same restless travel passion!

Currently I live in the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, 80 km north of Venice

I was born and raised in Venice, but upon turning 18, I left Italy to follow my dreams and passion: study languages and work abroad to open up my mind and expose myself to new cultures

I have called home so many countries and cities: London, Brussels and Madrid

Finally, in 2003 I settled back in Italy, first in Rome for ten years, and now back near Venice.

I am fifty something, but I feel I have so much left to explore and do.

I am an interpreter by profession, and my life has been a roller coaster, living in one country or another.

I have learnt so much along the way, and have been lucky enough to travel not so much for the sake of it, but as a life choice.

With a Venetian background and a quiet childhood behind me with a sister and a brother, a regular time at school, a diploma of higher education, a degree in interpreting, several migrations to London, Madrid and Brussels for study and work and back again to Italy for a career, an independent school business under my belt, along with a loving husband, I can say that my life has been an amazing journey so far

I am very lucky to have been in a relationship for many years with Paolo, who like me never keeps still!

Paolo and I share the passion for sailing, and whenever we have the chance: off we go!

MarcoPoloSpirit blog is all about my our travelling around Italy to discover the undiscovered jewels next door, be it Venice or Sicily.

However, since my young age I have always been a fan of .... the rest of the world, with a strong focus on art and history (which I love madly).

I love sharing as much information as possible on the places Paolo and I have visited together so far.

MarcoPoloSpirit's ethics is sharing both positive and negative experiences to help travellers to enjoy theirs!

This is why my post and links are ALL unsponsored.

That's MarcoPoloSpirit's policy.

I hope you enjoy reading MarcoPoloSpirit as much as I love writing it!

Thanks for visiting!

With love and gratitude,
